What are you talking about?

Consider your words.

What are you speaking about?

Have you considered the words you are speaking?

Do your words betray you? Are you speaking what you say you believe?

Faith

Jesus asked when He returns will He find faith. (Luke 18:8) What an amazing thing to say. He says we can’t even please Him without faith, yet He asked will it be here when He returns. Because of the political unrest, COVID-19, lawlessness, and more, people of faith are tempted to lose heart. People are being tempted with doubt seduced by the myriad of voices of the false prophets. (Media included). Who has bewitched you? That’s what Paul asked the Galatians. We are likewise being bewitched by the media and carefully crafted viral videos. I implore you to stop taking it in day and night. Don’t take their words in more than you take God’s word in. If you do, you will surely speak fear instead of faith. You may speak doubt instead of truth. They are literally “prophesying” to us all day and night, speaking a script given to them. They say the exact same words across the networks.

What do we do? Do we regurgitate what the Media is saying or what God is saying?

Rejection

As each day passes, we live in a world that rejects the Bible as the word of God, rejecting His people as unloving and uncompromising. More and more, we see evil being called good and good evil. Consequently, there are those leaders among us that are leading the flock astray. That is why we follow them as they follow God. We know them by their fruit, not their cadence or the eloquent way in which they speak. Even with that, unless God has given you that ministry and graced you to do so, don’t speak ill of those in leadership, pray for them. Even those who have been led astray and continuing to mislead the flock. They need prayer above all. They have been deceived. Pray for their eyes to be opened, and the eyes of those who follow them without discernment. The devil would want nothing more than to have us bickering and fighting amongst each other. Also, I implore you to read the word of God, praise, pray, and fast. Don’t neglect gathering with other Believers as iron sharpens iron. This is imperative for a strong and healthy life in Christ.

What do you believe?

What are you speaking about? Are you speaking life? Faith? Truth in love? What do you say you believe? Our thoughts and words betray us. Our lives and conversations betray us. We often fool ourselves, as the scripture in James says. We look in the mirror, walk away, and forget what manner of man we are, so to speak. But God sees us and knows exactly who we are. Even if we fool ourselves and others. But don’t you want to walk in authority and power, in Jesus name? You can. We have that ability. He died and rose in power. That same resurrection power resides in us. It’s activated by belief. Our faith is our currency on earth. You want to be found with it in overflow and not a deficit. Pray for an increase.

These dark days require us to stand on the word of God, confessing what He says and not what the world is saying.

We confess that a 1,000 a may fall at our side and 10,000 at on our right hand, but it will not come near our dwelling. We confess that our God is greater! We confess that we will live and not die! We confess that miracle, signs and wonders follow us because we believe! We confess that we can eat poison and it won’t harm us! That is what the word says! Don’t fool yourselves. You either believe it, or you don’t.

Choose

This is no time for being doubleminded. Choose a side. There is a separation going on. Sheep vs. goats are becoming more obvious. Whose side are you on? Make the distinction. Stand in faith and boldness for the Lord Jesus. We are needed at this time: we, us, the people of God. Our faith, light, and salt is necessary. We need to speak words of life, love, faith, and truth.

The other day, the Lord put on my heart these words: the power of agreement. What are we aligning ourselves with and agreeing to? Think about that. God gave us authority and dominion. We still have it, yet we give it away with our agreements. Yes, many times, what we say doesn’t line up with what we see. That’s ok. That is the definition of faith. Hebrews 11:1 says faith is the substance of things hoped for and evidence not seen. Yet, we have a strong conviction in the reality of it. We can’t experience it with our physical senses, but we are convinced by its truth.

Lies

The enemy of our soul lies day and night. We are bombarded with his lies. Lies about who we are and what we can accomplish. He keeps us in our emotions, caught up in the conditions of this world as if this is our home. We are here, yes. We are in this world, but we aren’t of this world. We belong to a kingdom. Our citizenship is in heaven; let’s not lose sight of that.

Today, walk circumspectly. Be mindful of your thoughts and the words you are speaking. Notice what you are agreeing to. Be mindful of your conversations and comments you make on social media. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. What have you taken into your heart? Guard your heart, above all. Watch what you take into your heart…what you allow to take root there.

Prayer

I pray for you this morning. I pray that you continue in what you first believed. That you walk in strength, power, and faith. That you renounce any agreements made with the enemy knowingly or unknowingly. I pray for God to cover you and your family. He is the one who supplies all of your needs. He is where your help comes from; I pray in Jesus name that you don’t lose sight of that. I pray that you walk by faith and not sight, and the Lord increases your capacity to receive more of Him. I plead the blood of Jesus over you, your family, your vehicles, health, finances, and all that concerns you. I pray that you rise and pray for your community. I plead Psalm 91 over you.

I decree that you are more than a conqueror. I pray that you make decrees and declarations over you and your family. I pray every day you wake, you put on your helmet of salvation, your belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, that you carry your shield of faith to extinguish those darts of the enemy, and yield your mighty sword, which is the word of God. I pray that your feet are shod with the preparation of the gospel of truth—the truth, which is the good news of Jesus. Stand up for righteousness. Stand on the side of the right. Never forget that He who is in you is greater than He who is in the world. And if Jesus is for you, He’s more than the whole world against you.

Blessings and agape love to you. Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Stay alert and prayerful for all Saints.

Let us hold on tightly to what we say we believe. Let’s keep our hope strong in the Lord because He is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23)

We are in this together. Remember the real fight is not against flesh and blood. (Ephesians 6:12)

I welcome your comments and words of encouragement to the body of Christ.

Amen! I could be wrong, but I feel that collectively we are too focused on miracles, signs and wonders instead of obedience and just simply doing what God has asked us to do. The enemy has tricked so many of us into focusing on our gifts that we don’t practice practical daily habits that will draw us closer to God. The miracles, signs and wonders will FOLLOW us. We don’t have to chase them. Lately, I have been reevaluating myself and making sure that I’m doing basic things like praying, studying the word, giving regularly, fellowshipping with likeminded believers, etc. Those small disciplines are proving themselves to be powerful because I’m confident that God is going to honor that in His own way. He will provide, He will make a way. I just simply have to follow. As a church we have overcomplicated our faith and have become too distracted to do the simple things. It’s a trick of the enemy. Like you said, in these last days it will be obvious who is really being intentional and disciplined and who isn’t. You can speak in tongues, prophesy and have as many visions as you want, but that won’t keep you from being deceived 🙏🏽

Thank you for this great word, that lines up with what several pastors have been talking about recently. And I thank God for his long suffering grace. He is giving us time to get it together. Hallelujah!

    1. What an amazing perspective Bria! Yes, I too, believe that we are overly preoccupied with signs and wonders. This is how many will be deceived. The small disciplines (although not so small) is what will carry us through day-to-day in our walk with Jesus. Thank you for sharing these words of encouragement. 🙏🏽❤️

Awesome word of encouragement and a reminder to stand strong, alert and ready at our post. Words are so very powerful and the enemy has deceived millions into thinking that they don’t matter but every vain word, the Lord will take into account. Even the enemy’s children, those who practice witchcraft, know how powerful words are and those use them to try to stop the church all the time and the sad part is that it has worked, up until today. Catch that? Today we stop it. With our words we are canceling the plans of the enemy right now in Jesus name. The church is supposed to be greater than the world so we need to speak the word of God to cancel the enemy’s plans. God already gave us this authority so we don’t need to beg and plead but we do need to walk in faith and holiness to execute it. Rise up children of the most high God in Jesus name!
